Eighteen farmers associations duly accredited in the City of Talisay are beneficiaries of the farm implements.

Various types of seeds, along with a variety of fertilizers, including chicken dung, Triple 14, and Free Grower, valued at a total P1.6 million, were recently distributed to 350 farmer beneficiaries from the 18 farmers associations accredited by Talisay City.

Talisay City Mayor Neil Lizares III addressed the farmers, pointing out the importance of food security.
“With bigger fund allocations for agriculture, Talisay farmers are ensured of more equitable and sustainable projects,” he said.
He also assured farmers of his continued support and assistance, and encouraged non-accredited farmers associations to apply for accreditation.
The funding for the project was sourced from a Bottom-Up Budgeting (BuB) program by the city’s agriculture department./WDJ
