The second suspected carnapper killed in a shootout with police earlier this week in Sharina Heights, Barangay Taculing, Bacolod City was identified by authorities, yesterday.
Police identified the fatality as 23-year-old Jay-R Cruz, a resident of Purok Paglaum, Barangay 17, in the said city.
In the initial police report by Police Station 2 (PS2), Cruz, alongside Mark John Pabila, who was also killed, succumbed to their wounds following a shootout with police, after they were caught dismantling a vehicle at an abandoned home in the Doña Juliana Subdivision.
According to PS2, a certain Gemma Cruz confirmed the individual as her son, indicating the tattoos on his shoulder and foot.
She expressed her shock following the incident, claiming her son rarely goes out and believes he was only lured by Pabila to commit the crime./WDJ
