PMA officials conduct information drive in Bacolod City, entrance exam on Sunday

Officials from the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) visited the Bacolod City Government Center (BCGC) yesterday to conduct an information dissemination drive for individuals interested in joining the PMA and becoming new officers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
In a press conference yesterday, Lt. Colonel Raul Verceles said the entrance examination for the PMA will take place on August 20 at STI-West Negros University.
He explained, qualified applicants must be natural-born Filipinos, physically fit, single, and never been married.
Applicants must also be at least five feet tall for both male and female; at least 17 years old, but not a day older than 22 years old on the reporting date.
In terms of academics, Verceles said applicants must be senior high school graduates with a GPA of at least 85 percent, with no administrative or criminal cases.
Verceles also noted several benefits in signing up for the PMA, including free college education in which they will earn a bachelor’s degree in leadership and management, along with a monthly salary and allowances.
Graduates become commissioned officers or second lieutenants in any branch of the AFP./WDJ
