Organizers of the exhibition match between the ladies’ volleyball teams of Ateneo de Manila University (AdMU) and Perlas-BanKo, set for next week, August 21, at STI-West Negros University, said preparations are complete and the event is ready to proceed.
During a press conference yesterday, lead organizer Carmela Arcolas-Gamboa, a former Negrense volleyball player, also confirmed local talent would be showcased at the event.
She confirmed previous reports that speculated former St. John’s Institute (SJI) athletes Kassandra Miren Gequillana and Candice Gequillana would compete for AdMU and former University of St. La Salle (USLS) athlete Gizelle Tan would suit up for Perlas-BanKo.
Also expected for AdMU are Bettina Andrea Abella, Isabel Beatriz de Leon, Pauline Marie Gaston, Ana Laureen Gopico, Jenelle Lo, Madeleine Yrenea Madayag, Louisse Jhoana Maraguinot, Julianne Marie Samonte, Katrina Mae Tolentino, and Ma. Deanna Izabella Wong.
Meanwhile, Perlas-BanKo is anticipating participation by Rysabelle Devanadera, Suzanne Roces, Charisse Vernon Ancheta, Maria Carmina Denise Acevedo, Katherine Adrielle Bersola, Jorella Marie de Jesus, Amanda Villanueva, Mary Mae Tajima, Jamenea Ferrer, Rapril Aguilar, Amy Ahomiro, Nicole Anne Tiamzon, and Karla Bello.
Preliminary games will also feature Team Cong Gasataya against Team Talisay Gwapo at 1:00 p.m., followed by Team Pontevedra against Team Foundation University, and Team I-Mart/SJI against Team Toy Trucks/Living Stones International School.
