La Libertad farmer wounded in stabbing incident

A farmer was wounded after being stabbed by another farmer in Barangay Elecia, La Libertad, Negros Oriental, early Saturday morning.
Police identified the victim as Melvin Faburada, a resident of said barangay; and the suspect as Juner Gaco, a resident of Barangay Pitogo in the said town.
Reports released by the La Libertad Municipal Police Station said, around 5:00am, Faburada and Gaco were engaged in a heated argument while drinking, which later escalated to the suspect stabbing Faburada.
Gaco immediately fled, while Faburada was brought to the Pacuan Community Hospital and was later transferred to Dumaguete City for further treatment.
The La Libertad Municipal Police Station is currently conducting a follow-up investigation into the possible arrest of the suspect./WDJ
