Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr. yesterday confirmed Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO) acting director, Police Senior Superintendent Rodolfo Castil, was appointed as director of the provincial police force.
According to the governor, he directed Castil to ensure Negros Occidental is peaceful and drug-free, which will make the province one of the top investment and tourist destinations in the country.
“We are now number two among tourist destinations and nobody will come here if there is always trouble,” he explained.
Castil said, in the meantime, they are currently awaiting the final order from Philippine National Police (PNP) headquarters at Camp Crame in order to formalize the appointment.
The new director was previously appointed to succeed Police Senior Superintendent William Señoron, after the latter was sacked for alleged links to illegal drugs./WDJ
