National Economic Development Authority-Region VI (NEDA-6) director Ro-Ann Bacal revealed proposals to improve ports across the province of Iloilo have the support of President Rodrigo Duterte.
“It has long been in the pipeline,” she said. “Now, it has the support of President Duterte.”
Bacal pointed out, the president mentioned Iloilo as part of the national port expansion program during his State of the Nation Address (SONA) earlier this week.
She also explained, as part of the Regional Development Plan (RDP), the expansion will lighten the flow of goods, services, and passengers in the ports of Iloilo City and Dumangas.
The proposal also designates the Iloilo City facility as a passenger terminal, while Dumangas will be dedicated to cargo./WDJ
