
The nearly 2,000 student workers employed by the Bacolod City government over the summer began receiving their salaries on Monday.
The 1,800 summer employees hired under the Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES), who worked about 15 days, each received P3,000, according to Bacolod City Public Employment Service Office (PESO) head Jose Ayco.
Meanwhile, an additional 155 were hired by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE). These individuals worked for 22 days and each received P4,400.
As of Monday, Ayco reported around 90 to 95 summer workers already received their salaries.
