A husband and wife were found dead after they were stabbed and robbed by unidentified suspects at Sitio Paglaum, Barangay Balintawak, Escalante City, Negros Occidental, Sunday evening.
Police identified the fatalities as 64-year-old Susana Morales and her 75-year-old husband Alfonso, both residents of the said barangay.
Investigators from the Escalante City police said the victims’ neighbor, identified as Oscar Sebua, made the discovery inside the lodging inn, where they were the caretakers.
The victims sustained several stab wounds across different parts of their bodies.
Sebua also recounted, prior to the discovery, he noticed a motorcycle driving back and forth.
When cops determined the owner of the said motorcycle, they proceeded to the owner’s house and learned the vehicle had been borrowed by the owner’s cousin.
Escalante City police are still trying to determine the identity of the suspect, while the victims’ remains are scheduled to undergo an autopsy./WDJ
