Trisikad driver stabbed in Bais City cemetery

A trisikad driver was stabbed by a fellow driver while drinking at the public cemetery in Barangay Lapaz, Bais City, Negros Oriental.

Police identified the victim as 46-year-old George Retes, a trisikad driver and resident of Barangay Cambaguio, Bais City; while the suspect was identified as Toto Ardeña, a resident of Ourrs, Barangay 1, Bais City.

Bais City police reported the victim and suspect were drinking in a secluded area of the cemetery when the suspect lunged at the victim with a bladed weapon, striking the victim’s lower left limb and left arm.

Upon the arrival of law enforcement, Retes was brought to the city’s district hospital, while Ardeña evaded capture.

Bais City police added, Retes was later transferred to a hospital in Dumaguete City for further treatment, while Ardeña is currently being hunted down by the police station./MIS, WDJ
