Three suspected snatchers were apprehended by a traffic enforcer and bystanders after they allegedly snatched a mobile phone from a woman along Gonzaga Street, Barangay Taculing, Bacolod City, Tuesday evening.

Police identified the main suspects as Shomo Fernandez, 34, a resident of Purok Pugad Baboy, Talisay City; Remiel Cadagat, 34, of Zone 4, Purok Pepsi, Barangay Bata, Bacolod City; and Angeline Marba, Fernandez’ girlfriend and resident of Barangay Poblacion, Bago City.

Police Chief Inspector Jovil Sedel, commander of Police Station 6, said the victim, 27-year-old Carole Magsipoc, was walking along in said area when a man riding on a motorcycle, with two others, snatched her cellular phone.

However, the suspects’ escape route was blocked by a traffic enforcer, while bystanders piled on Cadagat and Marba.

Fernandez managed to escape with the stolen item.

Sedel said they are now conducting a follow-up operation against Fernandez, while his accomplices face theft charges./MIS, WDJ
