The family of “Tawag ng Tanghalan” winner Noven Belleza denied accusations he was involved in the rape of a 19-year-old girl in Cebu City over the weekend.

In an interview with Bombo Radyo-Bacolod yesterday, the singer’s father, Reynaldo Belleza, said the family cannot believe the news his son is currently under hospital arrest.

He said they are concerned about his son’s condition and, noted, the Victorias City-raised singer does not drink nor has any other vices.

The singer’s father called on his son’s fans to support and pray for him, insisting his innocence.

Last Monday, the Mabolo Police Station in Cebu City filed a rape complaint against the singer.

It is up to the prosecutor’s office if Belleza would be allowed to post bail.

Belleza, however, was rushed to the hospital on Sunday after complaining of chest pains./DGB, WDJ
