Negros Occidental Provincial Board Member Alain Gatuslao said consultations are ongoing as he considers a run for fifth district congressman in 2019, set to be vacated by incumbent Rep. Alejandro Mirasol.
The second term board member said he is currently going around the district gathering feedback on his plans.
He is the first to formally declare a potential run for the seat.
Mirasol first won the seat after winning a special election in 2011 to succeed the late Rep. Ignacio Arroyo.
Other names that have been floated for a run include Gatuslao’s cousin, Himamaylan Mayor Agustin Bascon; and Moises Padilla Mayor Magdaleno Peña./DGB, WDJ
