Two suspected drug suspects were arrested by Kabankalan City police following a buy-bust operation at Purok Sampaguita, Barangay Binicuil, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, Thursday afternoon.

Police identified the suspects as 40-year-old Caleb Carian, a resident of the said barangay; and Edcar Villalva, 39, a resident of Purok Malipayon, also in the said barangay.

Kabankalan City police chief, Police Superintendent Rhea Santos, said Carian is a newly-identified drug personality in the area and was the subject of the police operation, while Villalva was already considered a street-level drug target by police.

She said the two were arrested after Carian handed one elongated sachet of suspected shabu worth P500 to an undercover cop.

A search of both suspects further yielded four sachets of suspected shabu, drug paraphernalia, and alleged drug proceeds amounting to P2,857.

Santos added, the value of the confiscated drugs was estimated at P2,000.

Both suspects face illegal drugs charges and are detained at the Kabankalan City Police Station./DGB, WDJ
