The Negros Occidental-based Philippine softball team will be heading to Manila on Wednesday, July 19, for interviews with the US embassy and visa verification, ahead of the 2017 Senior League Softball World Series, which takes place in Lower Sussex, Delaware in the United States from July 30 to August 6.
“After our interview with the US Embassy, the team will stay at the Rizal Memorial Stadium to undergo further preparation,” said coach Antonio Oquindo, Jr. “We might arrange more tune-up games with Manila-based collegiate teams to boost our preparation.”
Meanwhile, the Philippine little league softball team, bannered by the Education and Training Center School III, will be participating in the Little League Softball World Series, which takes place in Portland, Oregon in the United States from August 9 to 16.
The Philippines last won the tournament in 2003, when the Bacolod City Little League captured the crown. /JSG, WDJ
