The top drug pusher in Victorias City fell to police following a buy-bust operation along Osmeña Avenue, Barangay 5, in the said city, late Monday evening.
Police identified the suspect as 39-year-old Rommel Canlas, the main subject of the operation, and a resident of Bangga Daan, Barangay 1 in the said city.
Also arrested were 26-year-old Jeson Albis, a newly identified drug personality and resident of Barangay 20, also in Victorias City.
Victorias City police chief, Police Superintendent German Garboza, said Canlas previously surrendered to police as part of “Project: Double Barrel,” however, he had not ceased his illegal activity, which forced them to conduct the operation.
Cops moved in after Canlas handed one sachet of suspected shabu in exchange for P300.
They also arrested Albis, who was in the area during the deal.
Police seized a total of eight elongated and one small sachet of suspected shabu, drug paraphernalia, and P210 of suspected drug proceeds.
Both Canlas and Albis are facing illegal drugs charges and are presently detained at the Victorias City Police Station./WDJ
