Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr. has yet to decide on a new Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO) director and recently requested another list of candidates from the Philippine National Police (PNP).
When asked if he would like to assign somebody of his own choosing, the governor said he would leave the decision to the PNP.
Police Regional Office-18 (PRO-18) previously released the names of the initial considerations, which included Police Senior Superintendents Moises Villaceran, Romeo Mangwag, and Rodolfo Castil.
Both Villaceran and Mangwag are currently assigned under PRO-18, while Castil was assigned as acting NOPPO director after Police Senior Superintendent William Señoron was relieved due to alleged links to illegal drugs./WDJ
