The Bacolod City Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) recently passed a resolution endorsing a beautification and rehabilitation program for the Bacolod City Public Plaza, expected to be funded by the national government.
According to Bacolod City Lone District Rep. Greg Gasataya, the resolution was a necessary step in implementing the program, adding the next step is forwarding the endorsement to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
The project is expected to cost P9.8 million.
Gasataya added, bidding for the project is slated for next month, with hopes the program will be completed before the MassKara Festival in October.
Last year, City Administrator John Orola presented plans to improve and beautify the Bacolod City Public Plaza, which included refurbishing lights and flooring, removing trees without historical value, and the construction of a small amphitheater./WDJ
