The Bacolod City Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) recently recommended the dismissal of administration charges filed against Barangay Bata Captain Angelito Abaring.
According to City Councilor Caesar Distrito, the case, filed by Restituto Amparo, was dismissed on a failure to prosecute as the complainant did not show up at any of the hearings on the case.
Abaring, however, submitted a pre-trial brief and attended both hearings, the initial date and one rescheduled after Amparo’s no-show.
The first hearing was held among a series of cases filed against various barangay captains, which started on May 25 and ran until June 2. The rescheduled hearing was held on June 8.
Amparo initially pursued charges claiming the barangay captain violated the code of conduct and ethical standards for public officials and employees.
The dismissal case was signed by Councilors Distrito, Ana Marie Palermo, and Renecito Novero./WDJ
