A suspected drug pusher and user were successfully apprehended by members of the Municipal Drug Enforcement Unit (MDEU), following a buy-bust operation along Jacinto Street, Barangay 3, Hinigaran, Negros Occidental, Wednesday afternoon.
Police identified the suspected drug personalities as Sanru Gelico and Oscar Bergonio, both residents of the said barangay.
Hinigaran police chief, Police Senior Inspector Lawrence Gerald Bathan, said Gelico was arrested after handing one sachet of suspected shabu in exchange for P500.
Police subsequently arrested Bergonio, who was in the area during the operation.
A search of the suspects further yielded 21 sachets of suspected shabu, drug paraphernalia, and suspected drug money amounting to P3,520.
Both suspects are facing illegal drugs charges and are presently detained at the Hinigaran Municipal Police Station./WDJ
