Days after a vintage bomb was found in Bacolod City, another old explosive, believed to have been used during World War II, was recovered by the Talisay City police at Hacienda San Antonio 1, Barangay Dos Hermanas, Talisay City, Negros Occidental, early Tuesday morning.
A report by the Talisay City police said, around 1:30 a.m., they received a call from a concerned citizen claiming to have found a bomb in the area.
Police and members of a Philippine Army detachment near the area were dispatched to the scene and recovered the vintage bomb, which measured 17 inches in length and weighed more than 10 kilograms.
Talisay City police added, the explosive was brought to the Firearms and Explosive Division of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO) at Camp Alfredo Montelibano in Bacolod City, where it is due for disposal.
Earlier last week, a vintage 105mm artillery round was also recovered by police at a construction project in Barangay 12, Bacolod City./WDJ
