Based on data from Police Regional Office-6 (PRO-6), crime cases dropped from 4,019 between January and May of 2016 to 3,727 cases in the same period this year, a reduction of 7.27 percent.
PRO-6 director, Police Chief Superintendent Cesar Hawthorne Binag, added, the office’s crime solution efficiency rate of 58.24 percent is higher than the national average of 46.71 percent.
The highest number of recorded crimes were physical injuries, which totaled 1,722. Aklan recorded the highest number of cases, at 504, and also posted the highest number of crime cases in general with 1,125, an increase from 934 last year.
Iloilo City reported a drop in their crime index, down to 778 from 1,096 last year./WDJ
