Former Berya drug group member Ricky Serenio issued another affidavit on Monday linking former Negros Occidental Police Province Office (NOPPO) Director, Police Senior Superintendent William Señoron, and two other officials to the Berya-Camaria drug group.
Based on the affidavit, he said, when started giving protection money to Señoron, the then-provincial police director always made sure they did not speak directly.
He said Police Superintendent Maharlika Villasis facilitated Señoron’s monthly take of P200,000, while Villasis received P300,000.
Another P500,000 was also allegedly given to former Police Regional Office-18 (PRO-18) director, Police Chief Superintendent Conrado Capa.
Around December 2016, Serenio said he tried to contact Police Superintendent Glenn Provido in order to inform authorities of his willingness to surrender. Provido, he claimed, received P50,000 a month to watch for cops who receive payoffs but still conducted raid operations.
During the phone call, Serenio said Provido told him Señoron requested three kilograms of shabu, which would be confiscated during a buy-bust operation.
He explained, the plot would be to order three kilos of shabu from Camaria and to deliver it to a poseur-buyer and, once in transit, Señoron’s group would intercept the delivery and arrest the men of Camaria.
“I know, for a fact, Señoron and his men will only declare a small portion of the three kilos as seized items for their accomplishment,” Serenio said. “They will pocket the large portion of Shabu, recycle it for sale, and earn an income of around P12,000,000.”
Serenio claimed Provido called him again and said Señoron wanted him to finish the project and surrender to him as soon as it was done, warning him there were a lot of groups interested in killing him.
However, Serenio claimed he later found out Señoron wanted him dead, which drove him to contact Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) consultant and Moises Padilla Mayor Magdaleno Peña for protection.
Serenio was earlier caught in January of 2017 in Talisay City by members of the Regional Special Operations Task Group-18 (RSOTG-18).
Both Señoron and Capa have already denied the allegations.
Señoron has yet to respond to queries from Watchmen Daily Journal as of press time./WDJ
