A third year college student was found dead outside her house after she allegedly hanged herself in Barangay Tambojangin, Amlan, Negros Oriental, late Sunday evening.
Police refused to name the victim but confirmed she was 21 years old and a resident of the said barangay.
Based on the initial investigation by Amlan town police, they did not receive the information regarding the alleged suicide until around 5:00 a.m. on Monday, when a concerned resident visited their station to report it.
An interview with the victim’s brother, who has also not been identified, revealed he scolded the victim after she arrived home late.
Cops recovered a two and a half meter long nylon rope from a mango tree, while the victim’s remains were recovered by her family and placed inside their house.
A post-mortem examination was also performed by a municipal physician and discovered a ligature mark on the neck, which supports the claims she killed herself./WDJ
