Thieves cart away P312K from Alijis home

A group of thieves reportedly hit a house located in the Mt. Carmel Subdivision, Barangay Alijis, Bacolod City, Monday afternoon.
Police identified the victim and owner of the home as 35-year-old Leah Novero.
Police Station 7 (PS7) commander, Police Chief Inspector Charles Gever, said, around 2:00 p.m., the victim’s helper, Rean Operio, saw a white sports utility vehicle (SUV), with no plate number, stopped outside their house.
She reportedly saw five men and one woman exit the vehicle, with another climbing the main gate of the house and destroying the padlock.
In a panic, Operio hid and saw the suspects destroy the grills of the sliding door in order to gain access into the house.
Once inside the suspects stole a television set, a DVD player, several electronic gadgets, and jewelry.
The thieves carted away around P312,000 worth of valuables.
The suspects rushed out of the house and made their getaway in the said SUV.
Investigators from PS7 are currently conducting a follow-up investigation into identity of the suspects./WDJ
