Drunk man drowns in San Jose

A 27-year-old man was found dead after he drowned while taking a swim in Barangay Siapo, San Jose, Negros Oriental, Monday afternoon.
Police identified the fatality as Jerold Basay Belimac, a resident of the said barangay.
Based on an initial investigation by San Jose municipal police, Belimac, along with his friends, went to the beach and reportedly consumed several alcoholic beverages and were intoxicated.
Despite his condition, Belimac was said to have jumped into the water and swam to deep waters, where he drowned.
Rescuers tried to revive the victim by rushing him to the town’s local medical center but he was declared dead on arrival by the local physician.
San Jose police said there are were no signs of foul play./WDJ
