Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr. called on Negrenses yesterday to assist in the relief effort for Marawi City.
He said the provincial government is accepting donations for Halal food, drinking water, sanitation kits, blankets, batteries, first aid kits, sleeping mats, and portable lamps or flashlights.
The Provincial Capitol lobby and the office of the Provincial Social Welfare Department (PSWD) are the designated drop off points for relief supplies.
“We have to bring the relief aid to the affected residents as soon as possible,” he said.
Marañon also reiterated the provincial government would be providing financial assistance to Marawi City, but did not specify the amount.
The governor also urged local mayors to organize respective relief operations./WDJ
