The Philippine Information Agency (PIA), in partnership with the Negros Occidental provincial government, opened the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) kiosk in the lobby of the Provincal Capitol, yesterday.
PIA Regional Director, Atty. Janet Mesa, thanked Negros Occidental Alfredo Maranon, Jr. helping in the establishment of the kiosk, which promotes an understanding and appreciation for the multinational organization.
The kiosk will be open all week, closing on Friday, June 9.
She pointed out, the booth contains a television that continuously plays videos about ASEAN, a magazine rack, reading materials, leaflets from other government offices, and roll-up flags of ASEAN and PIA.
Mesa urged the public to visit and register at the kiosk, learn more about ASEAN, and avail of various programs by the government./WDJ
