A 37-year-old man was killed in his sleep after being shot twice by a still-unidentified gunman in Barangay Don Jorge Araneta, Bago City, Negros Occidental, early Tuesday morning.
Police identified the fatality as Ian Manaay, a resident of the said barangay.
Based on initial investigation by Bago City police, the victim’s younger sister, Mary Grace, stated to police, around 2:00 a.m., while she was attending a wake, she heard two gunshots.
She later discovered the victim’s remains around 4:00 a.m. and immediately contacted the police.
A preliminary autopsy report revealed the victim sustained a gunshot wound in the hand and chest. Investigators believe the suspect shot the victim at point blank range.
Bago City police are still investigating the motive behind the incident./WDJ
