According to an order signed by Engineer Leandro Caymo, director of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Bureau of Land Tenure, the agency is ordering one of their local offices in Negros Occidental to investigate an allegedly illegal road construction at Purok 9, Barangay Minoyan, Murcia.
The order was made in response to a complaint lodged by Task Force Crusaders (TFC) national deputy commander John Chiong, on behalf of a certain Valentin Jamelo.
Addressed to Teresita Mabunay, provincial agrarian reform program officer II for Negros Occidental-North, it calls for immediate action on the complaint within 15 days of receipt.
Jamelo claims Atty. Rolando Villamor, former Bacolod City administrator, constructed a road on land covered by a certificate of land ownership (CLOA), which is land reserved for beneficiaries of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP).
The same issue was also part of a blotter report by the Murcia Municipal Police Station on February 15 this year.
The complainant sought the assistance of TFC in a letter dated March 16./WDJ
