A suspected drug personality was arrested by police after he was caught attempting to rob a sari-sari store along Villa Gerorgina Street, Barangay Mandalagan, Bacolod City, Saturday afternoon.
Police identified the victim as 63-year-old store owner Ney Antoniano and resident of Kaakbay Village in the said barangay.
Police Station 3 (PS3) commander, Police Senior Inspector Larry Teovisio, said authorities visited the victim’s sari-sari store after receiving a call saying several residents have cornered a thief in the area.
Upon arrival, the suspect, identified as 28-year-old Regie Delector, was handed over to police.
An investigation revealed Delector was allegedly caught stealing P1,100 in cash from Antoniano’s store.
Antoniano shouted for help and a chase ensued between the suspect and several bystanders.
When they searched Delector, he yielded a 5-inch bladed weapon and one small sachet of suspected shabu.
Delector is facing charges for possession of a deadly weapon, theft, and possession of illegal drugs.
The suspect is detained at PS3./WDJ
