Two motorcyclists were brought to the hospital yesterday morning, after they were allegedly mauled by no less than seven individuals along Alijis-Murcia Road, part of Barangay Singcang-Airport, Bacolod City.
Police identified the victim as 21-year-old John Lord Samonte and his brother, Christian Rommel Samonte, 22, both residents of Celita Village, Barangay Alijis, of the said city.
Reports from PS8 said the victims stopped at an eatery in the area to buy cigarettes when several suspects approached them and mauled them without any reason.
In panic, Christian jumped back into his motorcycle and fled, leaving behind his brother, John Lord, who was mauled repeatedly by the suspects.
One of the suspects then took John Lord’s motorcycle while the rest of the suspects fled in different directions.
Both victims were later rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) for treatment.
PS8 is still conducting a follow-up investigation./WDJ
