An alleged member of the notorious “akyat bahay” gang was arrested by police after he victimized a house owned by a senior citizen at Purok Providence, Barangay Sum-ag, Bacolod City, early Saturday morning.
Police identified the victim as 64-year-old Florencio Villanueva, a resident of the said barangay.
Police Station 9 (PS9) said, at around 1:20 a.m. of Saturday, Villanueva’s house was allegedly entered by 21-year-old JR Duwale by removing four window jalousies.
Once inside, the suspect took away the victim’s two mobile phones worth P24,000 and P18,000.
Villanueva was alerted to the suspect’s presence inside the house so he contacted PS9, which later resulted to Duwale’s arrest.
Duwale is facing robbery charges and is detained at PS9./WDJ
