An unidentified individual, allegedly a victim of extrajudicial killing (EJK), was found on Wednesday evening off the waters of Barangay Balaas, Manjuyod, Negros Oriental.
Police have yet to identify the victim, but the fatality is male, estimated to be around 40 years old, and between 5’5” to 5’7” in height.
Manjuyod Municipal Police Station said they received a call at around 6 p.m. saying a group of fishermen spotted the remains floating in the waters belonging to the municipality.
Police said the remains were wrapped in two sacks and tied together by a rope.
The sack also had an inscription reading, “Adik ako, wag tularan (I’m a drug addict, don’t imitate me).”
When cops opened the sack, they also discovered his head and neck were wrapped in packaging tape.
Local cops added they are still trying to determine the victim’s identity and cause of death./WDJ
