The new top cop of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Western Visayas region vowed that the anti-drug campaign will continue.
Chief Supt. Cesar Hawthorne Binag, newly-installed director of Police Regional Office-6 (PRO-6), said the capture or surrender of alleged top drug lord Richard “Buang” Prevendido remains a priority. Prevendido is one of the top two drug lords in the region.
“Kasama sa marching orders. Lahat ng mga high-valued targets (That is part of the marching orders. All the high-valued targets),” Binag assured.
Binag officially assumed his post Monday after Chief Supt. Jose Gentiles was promoted.
The other regional drug personality was Melvin “Boyet” Odicta Sr., who was gunned down by unknown assailants last year.
Meanwhile, Prevendido remains at-large. This despite the more than P1-million reward money offered by both the Iloilo City government and Iloilo provincial government./WDJ
