Police Regional Office-18 (PRO-18) Director, Police Chief Supt. Renato Gumban, is scheduled to retire on May 19, after serving one year as top cop of the regional office.
According to Gumban, he was supposed to retire on May 21, which is also his birthday, however, since it fell on a Sunday, it was rescheduled to Friday.
Gumban confirmed Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Police Director Gen. Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa will arrive for the turnover ceremonies of the new PRO-18 director.
The outgoing regional director refused to name his successor, although a reliable source from inside PRO-18 revealed two PNP generals of Ilonggo descent were being eyed as a replacement for Gumban.
Gumban also stated he is hoping his replacement will continue to intensify the campaign against illegal drugs and illegal gambling in the Negros Island Region (NIR).
He also spurred the men and women of PRO-18 to do good in their respective duties and follow the orders of their superiors./WDJ
