Ceres-Negros FC ended their initial match in the Philippines Football League with a 1-all draw against the home team of Kaya FC-Makati over the weekend at the University of Makati Stadium.
Iain Ramsay scored the lone goal for Ceres FC in the 45th minute but Marwin Angeles nailed the equalizer for Kaya in the 69th minute.
Ceres FC got some goal opportunities in the early minutes of play on Luke Woodland and Jason de Jong attempts in the 13th and 14th minutes but the shot went wide.
Ramsay also went past Kaya’s defense in the 18th minute but his shot was saved by goalkeeper Zach Banzon.
The LBC-backed Makati squad had their first goal chance in the second half when Robert Lopez-Mendy outran his Ceres defender but his shot went off the post in the 54th.
Despite the busmen’s effort to escape the home side, good defending from Kaya’s keeper kept Ceres FC at bay until Woodland got a golden opportunity, but his shot went over the bar./WDJ
