Three law students from Silliman University in Dumaguete City made the Top 10 of the recently released 2016 bar exam results, made public yesterday by the Supreme Court.
Allana Gayle Ashley Khio placed second, Marie Chielo Ybio came in ninth, and Andrew Stephen Liu rounded out the Top 10.
Meanwhile, Allana Mae Babayen-on of the University of San Agustin, in Iloilo City, took fourth place.
According to USA College of Law Dean Jose Mari Tirol, Babayen-on is one of the 58 bar candidates from the university to pass the exam.
Karen Mae Calam of University of San Carlos, in Cebu City, was this year’s topnotcher.
It is the first time no law schools from Metro Manila produced a candidate in the Top 10.
The new lawyers will take their oath on May 22 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila./WDJ
