Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Negros Island Region (DENR-NIR) Director Al Orolfo was relieved of his duties last week.
Based on a document released by DENR Secretary Gina Lopez, dated April 27, Orolfo was reassigned to the Office of the Undersecretary for Field Operations and Staff Bureaus.
Orolfo was replaced by Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Officer (PENRO) Livino Duran.
Duran was previously assigned as OIC-Assistant Regional Director for Management Services of DENR-Region VI.
Lopez, meanwhile, confirmed the order in a radio interview, saying she wanted him back at the DENR central office in Manila.
Last week, the DENR secretary visited Sipalay City, Negros Occidental and Basay, Negros Oriental to inspect two mining sites in the area./WDJ
