Shortly after Isabela Vice Mayor Joselito Malabor was sworn in to take over for Mayor Enrique Montilla III, who recently passed, the new town chief dismissed over 200 municipal job order workers.
Effective today, via executive order, the mayor directed all department heads to terminate them of service, all of which were appointed by Montilla.
After assuming the post, the new mayor indicated one of his first initiatives would be to ensure the municipal government is operating efficiently.
“We will form a screening committee to evaluate who among the employees are performing,” Malabor said.
Malabor’s brother, Francis, unsuccessfully ran against Montilla for mayor in 2016.
