The Mambukal Resort reported yesterday they earned almost P1.2 million during Holy Week, last week.
In a document released by Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr., the resort earned a total of P1,189,434, compared to P1,085,490 in the same period last year.
Marañon said an estimated 17,366 guests entered the resort between Holy Thursday and Easter Sunday, an increase of 17.75 percent, compared to last year’s record of 14,747 guests.
“This just shows the province’s future is in tourism,” Marañon said.
He further added it will have a downstream effect to other industries, such as food and transportation, and everyone could benefit from it./WDJ
