Following the recent death of Isabela Mayor Enrique Montilla III, Vice Mayor Joselito Malabor was sworn in as his successor by Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr. at the Provincial Capitol, yesterday.
Town Council member Henry Foscablo was also sworn in as the new vice mayor.
The new mayor indicated one of his first initiatives will be to ensure the municipal government is operating efficiently.
“We will form a screening committee to evaluate who among the employees are performing,” Malabor said.
He also announced the annual town festival, set to begin on Wednesday, will proceed as scheduled. Montilla had previously announced the town would be banning Coca-Cola products from the festival.
