A total of 98 Negros Occidental Scholarship Program (NOSP) recipients graduated, with 22 of them receiving academic honors and distinctions from their respective colleges and universities.
Ira Tabino of Cauayan graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Central Philippine State University-Cauayan (CPSU- Cauayan) and was awarded an additional P15,000. Meanwhile, P10,000 was provided to magna cum laude graduates Jan Lee Gumban of CPSU-Kabankalan, Greg Tampus of Philippine Normal University (PNU), and Daphnie Yhen Abadies and Ronan Jay Alob of CPSU-San Carlos.
Additionally, cum laude graduates were awarded P5,000, including Willy Boy Garcia, Josephine Batusin, Marry Ann Guanco, Mary Ann Lopez, and Inah Dawn Maestrecampo of Carlos Hilado Memorial State College-Fortune Towne (CHMSC-Fortune Towne); Christine Joy Escutin and Quincy Ann Violanda of CHMSC-Talisay; Meriam Cañete of CPSU-San Carlos; Almer Tayactac of PNU; and Christian Loberas and Irish Mae Zerna of West Visayas State University-Himamaylan Extension.
Jireh Delos Reyes of CHMSC-Alijis also received a P2,000 special award.
Provincial Educational Assistance for Capitol Employees (PEACE) recipient Avelyn Marañon received an additional P15,000 for graduating with high academic honors with a masters of public administration from the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos (UNO-R).
All NOSP scholars who graduated with honors are also given medals of excellence, certificates of recognition, and cash incentives./WDJ
