The Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP), through its I-REAP program, will be financing P3.4 million worth of business proposals by four Iloilo farmers associations.
Among the projects include P990,000 for the Inagdangan Norte and Sur Farmers Association of Zarraga for goat production; P500,000 for the Iloco Farmers Association of San Rafael for a swine fattening project; P999,000 for the Barangay Matag-ub Sitio Kinambud Farmers Association of Janiuay for piglet production; and P999,250 for the Bingawan Organics and Natural Farming Advocates Association of Bingawan for the production and marketing of vermicompost.
According to Planning Officer Mila Dellomo of the Provincial Planning and Development Office, the Department of Agriculture has released the first disbursement of funding, amounting to P1.2 million.
“We are now processing the documentary requirements needed to release the funds to the recipient farmers association,” she explained./WDJ
