Central Negros Electric Cooperative Inc. (Ceneco) General Manager Sulpicio Lagarde, Jr. yesterday claimed the cooperative received a triple A rating from the National Electrification Administration (NEA), which looks at key performance standards (KPS), comprised of 32 financial, institutional, technical, and reportorial compliance indicators.
Lagarde calls the recognition “vindication” after he was previously terminated from his post by the Ceneco board.
“In the past, [the board] said there would be trouble, but this just proves, as long as it is for the good of Ceneco, the employees will support it,” he said. “When I returned in April of last year, I immediately rallied the employees.”
Lagarde claimed it was because of his absence that Ceneco was given the low rating of Yellow-2, which means the utility co-op was not in full compliance with NEA criteria.
Ceneco previously attained AAA status in 2011, 2012, and 2013./WDJ
