A fish porter was stabbed to his death following an altercation with a janitor along San Juan Street, Barangay 6, Bacolod City, yesterday morning.
Police identified the fatality as 29-year-old Jundel Molina, a resident of Purok Masagana, in the said barangay.
Police Officer 3 (PO3) Rommel Beato, lead investigator for Police Station 2 (PS2), said Molina allegedly tried to punch the suspect, identified as 33-year-old Emmanuel Sison, during the altercation.
Sison responded by picking up a sickle and stabbed Molina in the stomach.
The victim was rushed to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH), but was declared dead on arrival by hospital staff.
Beato explained both Molina and Sison had previous grudges with one another, and the victim allegedly had been repeatedly harassing the suspect.
He also showed a previous blotter entry filed by Sison.
The suspect, meanwhile, claimed he acted on self-defense and it was not his intention to kill the victim.
Sison is facing the criminal charge of homicide and is detained at PS2./WDJ
