The Bacolod City Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) passed a resolution yesterday expressing sympathies for the passing of former Negros Occidental Provincial Board Member and Don Salvador Benedicto Mayor Nehemias Dela Cruz.
Dela Cruz died last week of health complications at the age of 66.
According to the resolution, penned by City Councilor Caesar Distrito, Dela Cruz was described as “a principled man, a fighter for social justice, and a very loving provider to his family.”
His sons, Marxlene Dela Cruz and Nehemias Dela Cruz, Jr., currently serve as mayor and vice mayor of Don Salvador Benedicto, respectively./WDJ
