Members of the Bacolod City Police Office-Traffic Management Unit (BCPO-TMU), Bacolod Traffic Authority Office (BTAO), Highway Patrol Group (HPG), and the Land Transportation Office (LTO) will strictly implement the “no helmet, no travel policy” starting today.
BTAO and BCPO-TMU head, Police Superintendent Luisito Acebuche, said they will start apprehending all motorcycle drivers and back riders traveling around the city who are not wearing a helmet.
Under the BCPO-TMU policy, any apprehended driver will be fined P300 on the first offense. The second offense assesses a fee of P500, while the third offense results in the revocation of a driver’s license.
The LTO, meanwhile, will fine apprehended drivers P1,500 for the first offense, P3,000 for the second offense, and revocation of driver’s license on the third offense./WDJ
