In a tune-up match for their upcoming AFC Asian Cup qualifying match against Nepal this month, the Philippine national football team, the Azkals, will meet the Malaysia national football team at the Rizal Memorial Stadium in Manila, tonight, at 7:30 p.m.
It was previously reported the Azkals called up 10 members of Ceres-Negros FC for this squad, including goalkeeper Roland Müller; defenders Junior Muñoz, Jeffrey Christiaens, Luke Woodland; and midfielders Carli de Murga, Kevin Ingreso, Manny Ott, OJ Porteria, Iain Ramsay, Martin Steuble.
Last week, Malaysia coach Ong Kim Swee told ESPN, “We need to be as competitive as possible when we play Philippines.”
According to FourFourTwo, forward Javier Patiño is a huge boost to the Filipino side, along with notables including striker Misagh Bahadoran, midfielder Hikaru Minegishi, and defenders Kenshiro Daniels and Amani Aguinaldo.
Meanwhile, with no television coverage of the match, Philippine Football Federation (PFF) General Secretary, Atty. Edwin Gastanes, said the match will stream live on their website, pff.org.ph./WDJ
