Barangay Tangub Captain Noli Villarosa, who serves as president of the Association of Barangay Captains (ABC) in Bacolod City, recently directed barangay captains to focus on the campaign against illegal drugs in their respective barangay assemblies, set to take place this weekend, on March 25.
In Tangub, however, he noted their assembly will be held on March 31.
Last month, Villarosa called on barangay officials to take the lead in both the anti-illegal drug campaign and exposing the public to federalism. He said barangay officials should take the lead on behalf of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
When the Philippine National Police (PNP) were removed from the anti-drug campaign, the local Liga president believed it was the barangay’s responsibility to pick up the slack./WDJ
